Current Board

Chair

Hi everyone!

My name is Isabel Goossens and I am 19 years old. I am currently in my second year of International Business Communication. I am following the Spanish track. I am originally from Breda, where I love to go back to in the weekends. But I came to live in Nijmegen during the first year of my studies, which I have been enjoying a lot so far!

I got to know Babylon in the Introduction Week, which was the most fun week of the year. I have been an active member since then. I joined the Study Trip Committee, and attended various activities. I have met a lot of new people and friends through Babylon. And ultimately, I decided to do a board year!

This year, I have the honour of being the Chair of the 38th Board of Babylon, which I am really exited for! As Chair, I am responsible for ensuring that all Babylon’s operations run smoothly by supporting and guiding my fellow Board members.

I am really looking forward to next year and I hope we will make it an unforgettable year together!

Love,

Isabel Goossens

Secretary

Hi everyone!

My name is Naomi van Loo, I am 19 years old, and I am currently in the second year of the bachelor International Business Communication. Within this study, I follow the English-track, which I really enjoy. I am originally from Elsloo, a village in South Limburg, but I have now been living in Nijmegen for over a year. Although it took some time to get used to leaving my familiar Limburg behind, I now feel completely at home in Nijmegen and am thoroughly enjoying student life here.

I have been actively involved in Babylon since the beginning of my studies. During the Introduction Week, I quickly realised that I wanted to become part of the study association. Since then, I have taken part in various activities organised by Babylon and have been a member of the Committee of Informal Activities. Through this, I have met many new people and made some wonderful memories.

This year, I have the honour of taking on the role of Secretary within Babylon’s 38th Board, something I am very excited about! As Secretary, my responsibilities include reading and sending emails, managing the membership administration, taking minutes during meetings, and keeping the social media channels up to date.

I am really looking forward to dedicating myself to Babylon together with the rest of the Board and to making it a fun and unforgettable year!

Much love,

Naomi van Loo

Treasurer

Hey everyone!

My name is Jasmijn, I am currently 17 years old, and I turn 18 on September 23rd. I am currently in my second year of International Business Communication.
I’ve been living in the Nijmegen-area all my life, and before moving here for my studies I lived one river over in a village near Arnhem.

I was first introduced to Babylon in the Introduction Week. I had such a fun week and am friends with almost all of the people from my intro group, and because the week was so fun I decided to join the Graphic Design Committee and the Committee of Formal Activities. I really love being an active member of Babylon, so I decided to do a board year!

I am honoured to be the Treasurer in the thirty-eighth Board of Babylon. With this, I will be responsible for the association’s financial affairs and its presentation and contact with external parties, which I’m very excited for!

I am looking really forward to a fun board year and all the memories we will create during it!

Lots of love,

Jasmijn Heij

Hello everyone!

My name is Fee Berger, I am currently 20 years old. I am in my second year of International Business Communication. In my first year I did the Spanish track. This year I will be following the English track. I am originally from Amsterdam, I still go back there almost every weekend, even though I love Nijmegen as well.

I really enjoy to cook, for me cooking is a moment of relaxation. I also really enjoy spending time with my friends and family. My guilty pleasure is that I love watching reality TV.

I got to know Babylon in my first year through the Introduction Week. After that I was part of the Committee of Informal Activities and the Introduction Week Committee. Being active in Babylon really made my first year in Nijmegen and Uni a lot more fun.

This year I will be the Commissioner of Activities for Babylon, I am really excited, I hope you are too!
